Ball Playing among the Sioux Indians, 1851 by Seth Eastman - Handmade Oil Painting on Canvas - American Paintings

$1,114.00

Seth Eastman was an American soldier and painter. He stands out among other 19th Century American paintings because his work largely depicts the everyday life of Native American Indian people. He was also commited to realism in his work. The setting of the painting appears to be in a valley where we see several young Native American India men all of whom are wielding lacross sticks and chasing a ball. To the rear of the painting we see a gathering of traditionally dressed women who appear to be spectators of the game. There are also two men on horses, with spears in their hands, who are casually overlooking the activities.

This is an image of the famous artwork. We will hand paint a beautiful reproduction of this masterpiece in the size below.
