“La Colere” is part of George Barbier’s “The Seven Deadly Sins” collection. This litograph illustration features an elegantly dressed woman holding a sword, in the act of striking a blow at a bowing gentleman. Despite the gothic and rather dark theme of the illustration, Barbier still depicted the subjects in a fashionable manner, making sure that they are dressed and poised well. This is delicately complemented by a life-size sculpture of a cherub at the background. A gem in the Art Deco movement.
