In 1434 a Flemish Painter Jan Van Eyck, also known as the greatest artist of the early Netherland became outstanding in his skill of using Oil paint as his medium. He was considered as one of the most significant people in the Northern part of Europe in the 15th century. His style was that of the Northern Renaissance era and with that extraordinary skill in Art he was hired to work as a court painter and met the couple Giovanni Arnolfini and Giovanna Cenami that they asked him to paint their portraits during their wedding. It was said that he was present in the ceremony as his reflection appeared in the mirror and so was the signature at the back.
