Archery Contest (in the Chinese Qing Dynasty, 1644-1911) is a famous painting which shows as scene of an Emperor watching an archery contest. He is comfortably seated under a hut, flanked by several guards and members of his entourage. The public gather to watch the contest from outside the gates. In the background there are an arrangement of buildings and tee-pees and donkeys. The archery contest is underway; we see one contestant pulling his bow firing towards a target.
