Scorn By Paolo Veronese - Famous Art- Handmade Oil Painting On Canvas

"Scorn" is a painting by Paolo Veronese. Based on the title of and the depictions in the painting, it is a representation of a split between desire and devotion, of how love encompasses even to the point of getting hurt. Here, Cupid is atop a man who lies prostrate, beating him. This could be a symbol of how love can affect a man's life. There are also two women in the painting, who just look at the spectacle. One is in the state of undress, which symbolises lust and carnal love; while the other is fully dressed, which personifies pure and chaste love. This painting is an allegory on the many faces of love.
