This religious and terrifying painting was done by Pieter Bruegel the Elder, a Flemish Renaissance painter and print maker. It was completed in the year of 1562 and it was entitled as 'The Triumph of Death' which depicts the unavoidable result of the scourging of a war. Death is haunting men and women with a variety of tortures during the wartime. At the same time, in the painting one will notice the sign of the cross which shows that among the tortured and dead people were Protestants for at that time a rude Spanish-directed campaign against them were already in effect for decades.
