He is seated near a window, reading a newspaper, bathed in a warm golden light. The overall mood is restful. His elbow rests on a side table positioned next to him which is covered in an orange table cloth and holds other books. Behind him we see a painting easel and a window, with its shutters drawn closed. Bomanji was trained in an academic realist style at a school in Mumbai, India. Common themes in his work are day to day Parsi life and religious scenes.
