Feeding the Parrot by Pestonji Bomanji - Famous Indian Art - Handmade Oil Painting on Canvas

from $220.00

Pestonji Bomanji was an Indian painter trained in the Bombay Art School, in the academic realist style. Unlike most Indian paintings, Bomanji's works have more Western sensibilities, particularly his portraits. His works are often compared to those by Dutch realist painters. An example of this is his painting, "Feeding the Parrot." It's a depiction of daily life. Here, a woman is feeding a pet parrot inside a birdcage. But the bird is not shown. More emphasis is put on the woman herself.
